Angela Lanfranchi, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Lanfranchi has been in the private practice of surgery since 1984.  Her practice is devoted to the treatment of breast cancer and benign breast disease.  She is a 1979 graduate of Georgetown Medical School, a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.  She holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School since 1986.  She was the co-director of the Breast Center at Somerset Medical Center for 5 years.  She is on the Expert Advisory Panel for the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners.  She is collaborating with breast cancer researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center on work to discover  the genomic basis for breast cancer as it relates to reproductive history.  She has lectured nationally and internationally on breast cancer risk prevention to lay and medical audiences in her work with Breast Cancer Prevention Institute.  She is open to alternative complimentary treatments and believes deeply in the 'mind - body' connection of disease and the power of prayer.

Health Plans and Financial Policies

Health Plans

We participate in many major health insurances. Please call our office to find out whether we are a participating provider for your health insurance.  If we do not participate with your particular insurance carrier, we can still see you if your plan has out of network benefits.  Our staff will work with you and your insurance company to ensure that they meet their obligation in covering payment for your medical and surgical care.  Please call us and we will gladly answer any questions you may have regarding your health plan coverage.

Uninsured Patients

All life threatening medical conditions will be treated immediately and financial arrangements will be made at a later time. 

For all other medical conditions:

1. There is a charge for all consultation and office visits.  All fees are to be paid at the time of your visit.  Postoperative visits during the postoperative period are at no charge.

2. For procedures under $750.00, the balance must be paid in full prior to surgery.

3. For procedures over $750.00, at least half must be paid prior to surgery and a payment agreement signed for the remaining balance.

4. All previous balances must be paid in full before another surgical procedure will be scheduled.

Charity Care

The state of New Jersey offers a program called Charity Care.  It is a program that offers certain medical benefits based on your income.  If you have any questions regarding this program, call 908-685-2200 ext. 5992.  Charity Care only covers hospital charges.  It does not cover services provided by private physicians either at the hospital or in their offices.  You are responsible for all private physician fees.  It is the policy of Surgical Associates of Central New Jersey to offer Charity Care patients a discounted fee rate.  However, all fees are expected to be paid in full.  If you are unable to pay the entire balance, please contact our office to make payment arrangements at (908) 927-8934.
