Vascular Testing

 

Non invasive vascular imaging is an integral part in the evaluation of patients with vascular disease. Duplex ultrasound allows us to image arteries and veins throughout the body noninvasively.   A specially trained vascular ultrasound technologist performs the test.  A vascular surgeon will review and interpret the images.

 

 For the convenience of our patients, the following tests may be done in our office:

• Carotid and Vertebral Duplex to evaluate for atherosclerosis that may cause stroke.

• Venous Duplex Scan to evaluate for Deep Vein Thrombosis and to evaluate and plan treatment for patients with Varicose Veins or leg ulcers.

• Extremity arterial Duplex Scan to evaluate for atherosclerosis or peripheral aneurysms.

• Abdominal aortic ultrasound to evaluate Aortic Aneurysms.

• Mapping of the veins in arm to facilitate creation of AV fistula for dialysis patients.
