General Surgery includes a wide range of procedures usually performed in the hospital. Many procedures can be performed without the need of an overnight stay in the hospital.
Some of the more common procedures are:
Appendectomies for appendicitis.
Breast Biopsies for breast lumps.
Sentinel Node Biopsy for breast cancer and melanoma.
Breast Surgery for cancer including breast conserving lumpectomies and mastectomies.
Colon Surgery (large intestine) for cancer, infection, and diverticulitis.
Gallbladder Surgery for gallstones.
Hernia Repair
Hiatal Hernia Repair for pain and inflammation of the esophagus (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease).
Liver Surgery and Pancreatic Surgery
Stomach Surgery for ulcers and tumors.
Thyroid Surgery for lumps and cancer.
Minimal Invasive Laparoscopic Surgery is done for many problems including gallstones, appendicitis, inguinal and abdominal hernias, colon problems, and abdominal pain.
Aneurysm Surgery or Minimally Invasive Stent Graft Repair to prevent a weakened enlarged artery from rupture and bleeding.
Bypass Surgery to unblock arteries in the legs to relieve pain when walking and improve circulation to prevent gangrene.
Carotid Artery Surgery to prevent strokes.
Vericose Vein Manually Invasive Procedures.
Vein Injection to treat spider and smaller varicose veins without surgery.
Diagnostic Angiograms, Angioplasty and Stents is for testing and treatment of vascular disease.
